Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Head of Recruitment to lead the identification, acquisition, and integration of top talent for our football club. The Head of Recruitment will oversee scouting, data analysis, and talent acquisition strategies to ensure the club builds a competitive and high-performing team. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, an extensive understanding of the football transfer market, and a passion for discovering and nurturing talent.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Identification and Scouting
- Develop and implement the club’s recruitment strategy across all levels, including first team and academy.
- Oversee scouting activities, ensuring comprehensive coverage of domestic and international talent pools.
- Identify players who align with the club’s playing philosophy and long-term goals.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Use advanced analytics and performance data to evaluate potential signings.
- Collaborate with analysts to create detailed player reports and performance metrics.
- Continuously assess recruitment strategies based on data insights and market trends.
Collaboration and Integration
- Work closely with the Head Coach, Director of Football, and other key stakeholders to understand team needs and priorities.
- Coordinate with the academy and coaching staff to ensure a seamless progression of players through the system.
- Facilitate smooth transitions for new players, including onboarding and integration into the team environment.
Market and Contract Negotiations
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the football transfer market, including emerging trends and opportunities.
- Lead negotiations for player transfers, contracts, and loan agreements, ensuring alignment with the club’s financial constraints.
- Build strong relationships with agents, clubs, and other industry professionals.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor the recruitment and scouting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Set clear objectives for the team and ensure alignment with the club’s overall strategy.
- Regularly review team performance and provide constructive feedback to drive improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Extensive experience in football scouting, recruitment, or a related role.
- Deep understanding of player evaluation, market dynamics, and talent development pathways.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and manage effective recruitment teams.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and performance tracking software.
- Excellent organizational and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of FIFA regulations and transfer policies is essential.
